Areola Reduction
Areola Reduction is performed for cosmetic reasons when the dark skin around the nipple is stretched or enlarged.
The procedure involves the removal of a section of the darker skin around the nipple.
Normally the incision around the new areola heals to be almost invisible. However there is a risk, especially in dark skinned people, that the scar could be hypertrophic or even keloid.
The procedure of Areolar Reduction is often performed in conjunction with breast reduction/uplift.
