INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS

At The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic we have an enormous experience in the use of fillers. In Europe there are about 100 various products available. The regulations covering these new products are fairly lax compared to those in the USA. We only use products with a proven safety record that are licensed by the FDA in the USA.

Injectable Fillers are used in a variety of ways. They can pump up thin lips, soften facial creases, improve contours and are used for a variety of other enhancements. Injectable fillers soften skin and decrease the visible signs of aging and damage caused by exposure to the sun. As aging occurs, wrinkles will develop and facial lines may shift, causing an unpleasant and uneven surface.
There is now an excellent range of products available that can soften facial lines and wrinkles and even eliminate them completely. The newer products are more effective and last longer.
We use the following fillers:-

RESTYLANE, PERLANE, TOUCH, VITAL, LIPP AND SUB-Q are all manufactured by Q-Med and are extremely effective and safe. The choice of product is dictated by the type of line. Vital is used as a rejuvenating agent in the skin of the décolletage or hands where there is a network of very fine lines.

JUVEDERM is manufactured by Allergan is available as ULTRA 2, 3 or 4 again depending on the type of line or whether it is used in the lip.
All of the above products are various forms of Hyaluronic Acid which is a synthetic compound closely related to our own natural Collagen. The all have a temporary effect although they can last for more than 1 year.

ZYDERM AND ZYPLAST are also manufactured by Allergan and are made of Bovine Collagen. AQUAMID is a long lasting filler. We use it for deep lines, to correct contour deformities and to enhance the lip.

With this range of products we are able to treat a wide range of problems. The choice of product is made after a detailed consultation and examination by the Doctor.
