AREOLA REDUCTION (NIPPLE CORRECTION)
Areola Reduction is performed for cosmetic reasons when the Areola, which is the dark skin around the nipple, is stretched or enlarged.
The procedure involves the removal of a section of the darker skin around the nipple.
Normally the incision around the new areola heals to be almost invisible. However there is a risk, especially in dark skinned people, that the scar could be hypertrophic or even keloid.
The procedure of Areolar Reduction is often performed in conjunction with breast reduction/uplift.
This simple procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia with sedation as a day case in our own theatre in Chiswick.
