Post Acne Scars

This common troublesome condition can affect the lives of many people.

We see the problems of Acne in two forms. Most commonly we see Acne scarring in the older patient who had Acne in adolescence.
The scars are tiny pits like small craters.

Where the scars are not very deep we can use IPL skin rejuvenation.
For deeper scars we can use a dermal filler which elevates the base of the “crater” making the scar less obvious. This is a very effective treatment particularly for larger deeper scars which of course are the most obvious.

Active Acne

We now have a very effective treatment for Acne in the younger patient. This is very important because effective treatment at this stage will prevent the scars that can be a lifelong legacy.

The mainstay of the treatment is IPL treatment (Intense Pulse Light) together with a skin application called Differin. In addition we also use antibiotics to ensure a prompt and efficient response to the treatment.
This is one of the best uses of IPL because it does give such dramatic results.
